Quick update:

Completed receipt database, click the thumbnail for a preview of what it will look like.

I also wrote the parental waiver which people will need to sign before allowing me to take photos, can’t be dealing with any smart asses thinking they can sue me for a quick buck.

Filemaker Pro is actually quite sweet peace of software, when it works. Today while trying to figure out how I’m going to make my walls, I found myself browsing around not doing much work.

So I stopped and and looked for something I didn’t want to do but needed to do, looking over my flow and check lists I noticed that I’m going to need to give receipts for purchases.

I could use a simple duplicate book and give them a top copy hand written receipt, a perfectly acceptable way of doing things other than it’s a little tricky if I want to call up a bunch of data to see how many of X I’m selling.

So I boot FileMaker Pro and get to work, lucky I still have a old receipt database from my previous job, delete a few tables here, insert the new logo and BOOM, crashed, white screen.

I thought nothing of it, CTRL+ALT+DEL and reopen the file and nothing, it’s all gone, I try and do a recover and no luck.

Being the dumbass I am, I saved over my original database. Instead of doing the smart thing of making a new one.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr – Bright side, tomorrow I’ll complete it very quickly.

Things I still need to buy:
- Backdrop and display system – Found one!
– Table and chair – IKEA’ing
-  Something to sit small children on – Still looking.

Yo! I’ve completed my floor plan and man do I feel good about it. Seeing things in your head and then getting it down on paper (or screen?) feels great, especially when you’re happy with the end result.
